The Local Area

Explore some of the country's most dramatic coast

Trethosa is a pretty Hamlet in the Parish of St Stephen, situated between St Austell and Newquay. Only a few minutes drive from the A30 it provides great access to all of the delights Cornwall has to offer.

Explore the coast

Trethosa’s central location offers easy access to both the North and South coast. Newquay’s golden beaches and crashing surf is a 15-minute drive to the north, whilst the picturesque towns of Charlestown and Pentewan sit to the south. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple 20 minutes drive past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops.

Local Attractions

There are numerous attractions near by including The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Flambards, Newquay Zoo and more. The visitor centre at St Austell Brewery is also close by, where you can sample beers and ales made on the premises. And it goes without saying that a visit to Cornwall isn’t complete without a surfing lesson!

Nearby Towns

The Cathedral City of Truro is in Cornwall’s heart and offers a wealth of facilities for the visitor. Dominated by the stunning cathedral, it is one of the south west’s most attractive cities. There are also many smaller towns near by, including St. Austell, Wadebridge, Newquay, Padstow and more.

Food & Drink

If you are a foodie, you might like to try Padstow, with its fine selection of restaurants influenced by Rick Stein, or Paul Ainsworth’s No 6 (one Michelin star) or at one of Nathan Outlaw’s restaurants in Port Isaac. There are many local Cornish pubs too, offering a selection of locally brewed beers, ciders and ales.
